Mark Driscoll
2 Timothy 2:14-26
Every once in a while I check in on what Mark Driscoll has to say. I like Mark Driscoll not only for his boldness but because he is balanced in his approach to scripture. I found one of his conference messages covering 2 Timothy 2:14-26 and, well... wow! I hope you will take some time to listen to this message. It runs about an hour and 20 minutes (or so) long. It is extremely good and well worth your time to listen. Whether you are a pastor, ministry leader, on staff, or a volunteer, you’ll enjoy what Mark has to say. You will be challenged, you will laugh a lot and relate a lot. Click here to listen.

Refrigerator Rights
Do you have them?
Do you have them?
"How many people do you have in your life with "refrigerator rights"? You know, those people who are so trusted that they can walk into your home, open up your refrigerator, and help themselves to a sandwich or a drink?" In his book, "It", Craig Groeschel goes on to say, "If you're like most people, I suspect that very few people have refrigerator rights in your home. Most people are too busy to really get to know each other. People may have friends at work, at the gym or at PTA meetings, but few do life together in their homes." He goes on to say, "God designed you to be interdependent. He wants you depending on him and on his people."
Relationships and community are so important in the life of a church. Getting together to encourage each other is a necessary ingredient in growing in our walk with Christ. That's why small groups are so important. Relationship building among members of God's family provides an avenue for applying biblical truth, it promotes unity and caring among the members, meets spiritual and emotional needs, gives opportunity for lifestyle evangelism, and demonstrates the Body of Christ in action.
We have a number of small groups meeting in various homes. Take a minute to prayerfully consider participating in a small group this fall, call the church office (629.2584) to sign up and feel free to open up the fridge!

Much Loved Grandma
My mom, Betty Ferch, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday morning. Our hearts are broken and we grieve. I know she is in heaven with Christ because she asked Him to be her Savior years ago. I have never seen a person who made Christ top priority in her life like she did. She did exactly what the verse in Deuteronomy 11:19 tells us: “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds… teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” I don’t remember a day when my mother didn’t give out a word of wisdom from scripture or testimony of how the Lord was working in her life or in the lives of others.
Please join us as we celebrate my mother’s life on Wednesday morning, October 14, at 11:00 am at the church. Visitation is at 10:00 am.
Thank you for your love, care, concern and prayers in these past months. We have such a wonderful church family!
With love,
Jeanne Johnson
