Angel Tree

This Christmas, 1.7 million children will have a parent in prison…

Angel Tree, a ministry of Prison Fellowship, seeks to reconcile prisoners and their families to God and to each other through the delivery of Christmas gifts and the gospel message.

Will you help "deliver love" to children of prisoners this Christmas?

Pine City EFC is registered with Angel Tree, and that means we have the names of children who have a parent who is incarcerated so that we can buy Christmas gifts for that child. Here’s how you can get involved and reach out to these families with the love of Jesus Christ... let us know if you would like to be a part of this ministry and you will receive the child’s name, contact information and gift ideas so that you will be able to purchase Christmas gifts for that child for his or her incarcerated parent. Join us, at Pine City EFC, as we help prisoners give gifts to their children, along with reassurance of their love and God's love.

Pick up your angel off the tree in the foyer this Sunday or contact Lisa Steven at 320.629.2584.

A Warm, Fuzzy Night

Another warm, fuzzy night at Awana especially last Wednesday evening when clubbers attended Pajama Night at PCEFC. There was an array of fuzzy, warm jammies of the Sponge Bob and Spiderman sort. Even our leaders joined the fun. Below are pictures of a few of our clubbers and leaders.

An Exciting Week Coming Up!

Next week will be an exciting week around PCEFC. Monday, November 15– Monday, November 22 is Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drop-Off Week and PCEFC is the collection site for this area. If you’d like to be a part of the excitement, here’s how you can help:

First of all, you can pack a shoebox for a child. Here's what to do:

Use an empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a small plastic container. You can wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required. (Don’t forget to pray for the child who will receive your gift).

Then, determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Mark the correct age category on the label, and tape the label to the top of your box. (You may pick up labels at Pine City EFC or print a label).

Now, grab a friend, spouse, parent or child and select a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child from a nearby store and fill your shoebox. Use the gift ideas provided below if you’d like.

Please donate $7 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can give online by using our EZGIVE option, or you can write a check to Samaritan’s Purse (note “OCC” on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are preparing more than one shoe box, please make one combined donation. Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and drop off at Pine City Evangelical Free Church (625 Golf Ave SW, Pine City) or a Collection Center nearest you during collection week November 15 - 22 at the following times:

Monday-Friday, November 15-19, 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Saturday, November 20, 9:00 am-2:00 pm
Sunday, November 21, 12 noon-1:00 pm
Monday, November 22, 9:00-2:00 pm

Some idea items for shoeboxes are as follows:
Small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, yo-yos, jump ropes, note books, pens, pencils, crayons, solar calculators, coloring books, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, wash cloth, hair clips, combs, gum, socks, sunglasses, watches, hard candy only- no tootsie rolls, chocolate, or other soft candy (it melts on the other items).

One other important item is to send a personal note along with your shoe box. There is a recommended donation of $7 for each box to cover shipping cost. Also, did you know you can follow your shoebox online to find out the destination of your box by making your donation online at www.samaritanspurse.org/ezgive ?

The second opportunity to help is that you may volunteer your time at OCC Collection Week at Pine City EFC. If you would like to help out in this way call PCEFC office at 629.2584.
Join in and give a child a special Christmas! Thank you everyone!

1st Annual "Trunk or Treat"

Our 1st Annual "Trunk or Treat" was a smashing success and we had a ball doing it! Many families in our church came for a night to reach out and into the community. Everything from treats, popcorn, hotdogs, chips and cider, along with Bibles, trinkets and tracts were given out. A jumping tent was a real hit with the kids along with fun and games created by each family involved! It was a beautiful night of "reaching out tenderly with the saving message of Jesus Christ." Below is just a glimmer of the fun.

Frontline Folk at Fall Fling

Our youth packed up the vans and went to Fall Fling at Camp Shamineau. They had a great time of hanging out, enjoying the great outdoors and winning the Flag Football Tournament. Abe Johnson challenged us on how Jesus came to “Revive” the sick and the unrighteous, not those who think that they are healthy and righteous. We all really enjoyed the weekend and came home tired but challenged up. -Aaron

It's Official!
She's a Minnesota Girl!

Last night, Pine City EFC Women had a secret! Our Women's Fall Gathering was not just a fall gathering, but something a little bit more! We surprised Jenine (Pastor Joel's wife) with a little "Welcome to Minnesota" Party. Jenine is a Florida Girl through and through and we wanted to "warm her up" right here in Minnesota! This is Jenine's first year to toss aside the sandals and sundresses and don the winter long johns and ear muffs that any true Minnesota girl would wear. So along with great fellowship, warm fall goodies, clever entertainment and an encouraging devotional, we officially welcomed Jenine to Minnesota. We also welcomed some friends from Zion Lutheran Church... thanks ladies, for coming! And, a huge thanks to some of our teen gals (Mariah, Natalie, Becca, Chelsey and Kylie) for performing "Minnesota Gurls", a remake of "California Gurls" by Katie Perry. Below are a few pictures of the fun evening, or if you'd like to see our very own Minnesota Girls, click here.

Living in Thanks Giving
November Sermon Series

In the Hebrew Bible, Psalm 100 is entitled “A Psalm of Thanks.” This particular Psalm was used in the Israelite’s temple worship and sung as an accompaniment for thank offerings (Leviticus 7:12). As we approach the Thanksgiving season, believers are reminded that it is God’s will for us to always be thankful (1 Thessalonians 5:18). This beautiful little Psalm holds 4 keys to “Living in Thanksgiving!” Join us on Sunday mornings as we gather for worship at 10:30 a.m. Pine City EFC, Lighthouse.

The sermon schedule is as follows:
November 7 – “Delight” Vs. 1
November 14 – “Service” Vs. 2
November 21 – “Dependence” Vs. 3
November 28 – “Gratitude” Vs. 4
