Easter Weekend Was Eggstra Special

Easter week contains the very foundations of our faith. We want our children to understand what happened to Jesus as he took those steps from the road outside Jerusalem to the foot of the cross. We want our children to understand his sacrifice on the cross and to embrace the fact that Jesus is alive today, ready to welcome them into the family of God. Because this is our desire, we worked hard to plan our Easter weekend for our children, filling it with activities to help children learn to follow Jesus.

Thank you to all the adults who helped make the weekend special. A huge thanks to Maggie Guill for presenting the Easter story in such an understandable way. Below are a few pictures of our eggstra special Easter.

Welcome to Keith's World...

Young and old alike were wowed by Keith Conner's humor and talent! We thank Evergreen's Pastor Seth for sharing his brother-in-law with us! It was fun to plan this event together.... Thank you Evergreen Community Church! Take a look at a few pictures for a most memorable evening...

Back By Popular Demand...
Theater For The Thirsty

Pine City EFC, Lighthouse
Saturday, April 12 7:00 pm

Jeremiah and Vanessa Gamble will be performing the newest musical from Theater for the Thirsty... "My Name is Daniel". A lions' den... a fiery furnace... No, it's not "Survivor: the Musical." It's a new take on the story of Daniel– complete with a "Sound of Music" parody. Directed by Jeff Miller (formerly of "The Refreshment Committee"), featuring musical arrangements by Michael Pearce Donley of "Triple Espresso," and accompanied by a mysterious third cast member…

Theater for the Thirsty, a two-person theater company (Jeremiah and Vanessa Gamble)specializing in entertaining, music-infused, funny, thought-provoking, soul stirring and imaginative theater. They have been creating and performing original works professionally for over twelve years.

Jeremiah and Vanessa Gamble are married, a fact they happen to enjoy immensely. They have been involved in professional theater in the Twin Cities, both on camera and on stage for over twelve years. Their passion is creating and performing original works together through their theater company, Theater for the Thirsty. They portray over 100 different characters in their ten original shows–ranging from tone-deaf angels to cud-chewing cows. Every Christmas they both perform with the whole family, The Gamble Family (a 25 year tradition). They graduated from Bethel University with degrees in theater and music. They make their home in Minneapolis, MN, with their extremely cute daughters Phoenicia and Eden. Together they create music, theater, laughter and pretty tasty chicken curry.

Supporting Cast includes some fine folks they've collaborated with and continue to collaborate with. They consider them honorary members. (They know the secret handshake and everything).Michael Pearce Donley (musical director and accompanist for Amnesiac Jack, and musical arranging for My Name is Daniel) co-writer and co-star of the hit comedy “Triple Espresso". Our students? Serious about leading?

You bet they are!

We’re seeking to build and develop leaders among our youth. We want to grow a desire in the heart of our students to do more for Christ. We want our students to have a deep desire to help others find Christ. Remember... the best kind of leader doesn’t need a title, but is one who follows God.
All students: A reminder about Sunday nights, 7:00 pm, Jack's office for prayer.

Teen Challenge
Teen Challenge will be at Pine City EFC on Sunday, March 16 at 10:00 am. Teen Challenge is a Christian, long-term, in-patient treatment program for drug and alcohol addictions. Troy Waldren, who used to attend our church, will be leading the group. The 30 men will sing and share testimonies of God’s love and faithfulness in helping them out of darkness. We want to encourage everyone to stay for dinner afterwards with the men from Teen Challenge and continue to listen to their stories. This is an opportunity to encourage them on their recovery journey! Invite you family and friends to this very special event!

A Slidin’ Good Time
Frontline Jr. High students felt the pull of gravity which left them gasping for air when on Sunday, February 17 they found themselves riding the crest of snowy waves at Eko Backen again this year. The fun of sliding on the snowy slopes made for an exciting afternoon. A few pictures are posted below.

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead this Saturday

Actually it might be wise to set your clocks ahead before you go to bed on Saturday but officially in the U.S., clocks change at 2:00 am local time. In spring, clocks spring forward from 1:59 am to 3:00 am; in fall, clocks fall back from 1:59 am. to 1:00 am.

If you would happen to forget to set your clock ahead you would be late for the worship service on Sunday but right on time for a special Informational Meeting the Search Committee is asking you to attend immediately after worship.

You don't want to miss out this Sunday... Ross McAfee, gifted worship leader, former PCHS music teacher and former beloved PCEFC Youth Director will lead us in worship at 10:00 am.

You may lose one hour of sleep but you won't lose out by getting to worship on time!
