At Kid JAM
Daniel had courage to do what was right. He was determined to take a stand. Daniel trusted God, even when the pressure was on! At Kid JAM, 9:30 am, Sundays, our kids are learning about the faith in God that Daniel and his three friends had, even in a foreign country, far away from home! Though the pressure was on in many situations (a fiery furnace comes to mind), Daniel was an example of courage and faith! Our kids, through the life of Daniel, are encouraged to have the determination to live out their faith just as Daniel did!

This Morning at Our School
Our students were part of a student-led prayer gathering this morning at their school flagpole. It was a joy to see our students' desire to see God at work in their school, among their friends, teachers, and community as they joined hands and prayed at See You At The Pole.

See You At The Pole

See You At The Pole, tomorrow morning, September 22 at 7:00 am, is simply a time of prayer, for students to lift their friends, family, teachers, coaches, community and school up in prayer around their school flagpole. It is a student initiated, student organized, student led time of prayer. Each year more than 3 million students from all over the world participate in See You At The Pole. It's so wonderful to see students responding to God and taking seriously the challenge to pray and boldy proclaim their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for our students as they attend and take this stand publicly.

This is My Church!
Living Out the Mission of PCEFC

Do you know the mission of Pine City Evangelical Free Church? If not, let me remind you that "we exist to worship God authentically, enjoy Christ's supremacy, cherish Scripture mightily, care for each other passionately and reach out tenderly with the saving message of Jesus Christ."

When I first became aware of this church's need for a Pastor, this mission statement jumped out at me. Undoubtedly, it is one of the best written and most Scriptural church mission statements I have ever read. As I investigated, I found that it had been voted on and adopted as the church's mission statement sometime last year. For the next several weeks we will look at, dissect, and prayerfully learn to live out this mission statement not only in our church, but also in our homes and our community.

Please join me for this upcoming sermon series entitled,"This is My Church!"

The sermons will be as follows:
September 19 - "Worshipping God Authentically"
September 26 - "Enjoying Christ's Supremacy"
October 3 - Missions Sunday with the Transburgs
October 10 - "Cherishing Scripture Mightily"
October 17 - "Caring for Each Other Passionately"
October 24 - "Reaching Out Tenderly"

A Change in Season
A Change in Needs

The season is changing. Our clothing shelf needs changing. Fall and winter clothes for all ages need to fill the shelves. The Clothing Shelf is used by many, many people in the community. It has been a great outreach. The needs throughout our neighborhoods are abundant. Do you have anything that you won’t be using this season that is used just a little bit to share with others? Just bring in your donated clothing and outwear anytime during the week 9:00 am-3:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Thank you, everyone!
Yep, it needs a little cleaning up!

Our church is committed to partnering with other churches and organizations in the Minnesota Adopt a Highway Program. Adopt a Highway is a public service program for volunteers to pick up litter along Minnesota’s highways making a cleaner more beautiful America. As a church we go out 2-3 times a year and clean up our part of Interstate 35.

Lisa Steven has announced that the next clean up date will be Tuesday, September 14. Meet at the Lighthouse at 4:30 pm and the vans will take everyone out to the portion of the highway that we clean between Pine City and Beroun. All men, women, and children (at least 10 years old) are needed! Thanks, everyone!

Baby JAM (Infants & Toddlers)

Wee JAM (Preschool)

Kid JAM (K-6th Grade)

Sundays @ 9:30 am

Baby JAM (aka Infant & Toddler Nursery) is designed for infants and toddlers to learn, explore, play and grow in a bright, positive, God-is-present atmosphere. Children at this young age need lots of physical care. We will care for your child lovingly, as you, the parent, attend an Adult Christian Education Class. We want our infants and toddlers to know that Jesus loves them, so not only will we care for their physical needs lovingly, but as the foundational “classroom” of our children’s ministry, we will introduce infants and toddlers to the “basics” of faith and Bible truths.

Baby JAM Schedule:
9:30 Baby Praise & Worship
9:40 Simple Bible Lesson
9:50 Baby Snack
10:00 BabyPlay
10:20 Parents pick up their child

Our desire is to help introduce your infant or toddler to God and to His Word through song, story, activity and play. This isn’t just any nursery but we will use this time to instill into your child’s heart and mind simple Bible truths, giving them a solid start

Wee JAM is designed for preschoolers to worship, learn, explore, play and grow in their knowledge of our loving heavenly Father. Preschoolers will learn simple Bible truths which will be drawn from the story from that day. (We not only want our children to learn stories from the Bible but it is important to teach them the concepts and principles that God would have them learn and apply to their life from that story).

Wee JAM Schedule:
9:30 Wee Praise & Worship
9:40 Bible Story & Lesson
9:50 Activity & Craft
10:00 Wee Snack
10:10 Playtime
10:20 Parents pick up their child

Our desire is to lay the foundational groundwork for each child to understand simple Bible truths and to instill within, God’s love for them. We want them to understand and apply God’s Word to their lives in these early years of spiritual development… giving them a solid start. From their earliest days, we want your child to know about the joy of learning about Jesus.

Kid JAM is structured for kids, kindergarten through 6th grade, to experience large group energy along with small group learning. Every week kids will experience large group enthusiasm led by one or two leaders who will help them explore and learn about God’s Word through story and song. After Large Group Opening our Kidteam Leaders will lead a small group of kids to review Bible truths and dig deeper, reinforcing the lesson, and discovering apply-to-life principles, from the lesson taught in large group time.

Kid JAM Schedule:
9:30 Large Group Opening
10:00 Small Group with Kidteam Leader
10:20 Dismissed for Worship

Our desire is to see lives change as God’s Word is presented and to make this time with your child, through teaching and discipleship, count for eternity. We want to help equip them for life, making the right choices in line with God’s Word. We believe that God's Word has the power to change hearts, thus changing attitudes and actions. We want to build into your child's life an understanding of their need for Christ as Savior. Our desire is that your child will grow to know Him more and love Him more, and as a result, will want to serve Him the rest of their lives.

Make A Difference
I'm going to do the "Drive Thru Difference" today.... I challenge everyone else to try it out too! You don't have to live in the Twin Cities, let's join in up here in Pine City!

I’m sure most of us have heard KTIS (Twin Cities Christian radio station) announcing its "Drive Thru Difference" on various days throughout the year. We want to encourage everyone in our church and community to make a difference in and around Pine City, also, on any given day!

Here’s the challenge to make a difference. Maybe when you go to a drive-thru… let’s say... McDonald’s, Java Joe’s or Cabin Coffees... treat the person behind you. Or, how about at the A&W or Dairy Queen …. just about anywhere around town. Here’s another thought….maybe after filling your gas tank at a local station, at the cashier counter, pay the gas for the person behind you. Just paying someone else's bill shows a great amount of kindness!

KTIS invites anyone to download and print out a Drive Thru Difference Note. Take it with you when you go and hand it to the cashier to give to the person who is behind you (who you are paying for). Let's join the rest of the KTIS crowd right here in Pine City and let others know you care! It's a perfect opportunity to introduce them to KTIS...and maybe, just maybe, introduce them to Christ!
