The Groom's Parents
At this time next week we will be rehearsing for the "Big Day". Our fourth son gets married and we are thrilled. We love our future daughter-in-law. Lisa fits right in.
It's different being the mother and father of the groom. Just one year ago we were mother and father of the bride. We were sweating it out a bit more last year. Really, our only responsibility this year was to invite everyone who has a part in the wedding to the rehearsal and Groom's Dinner. We sent out a little invitation that went something like this:
David popped the question and Lisa said "Yes",
All the planning is over from the garden to the dress.
Only one thing remains for this day to be great,
"Practice makes Perfect"
Thursday, June 25 is the date.
We'll practice the ceremony,
and iron out the kinks.
Then it's off to the Hampton Inn,
for some dinner and drinks (soda).
Please join the bride and groom
at 4:30 pm, Rose Garden, Loose Park
then it's off to the dinner at 6:00 pm sharp!
Semi-formal attire is all that is needed
with laughter and love you will be greeted.
Yes, they will all be married off. Are we done being parents? The answer is "no". We have never seemed wiser than what we are to our married kids right now. After all these years they actually ask us our opinion, and then they stick around to wait for the answer. Amazing!
So if you think about it, please bring us before the Lord in prayer as our family and friends make the big trip to Kansas City next week. Thank you. Above is a picture of Dave and Lisa.
